Hunting in Paradise

We have extended our season into October just for hunters and those desiring to see the beauty of Fall in Northern MN.

Avid hunters will find plenty of Minnesota hunting opportunities to sharpen their skills in our surrounding National forest and State land. Whether you are big game hunting in Minnesota, small game hunting in Minnesota, or waterfowl hunting in Minnesota, there is a wide variety of wildlife available for your Minnesota hunting pleasure.

Beltrami State Forest, Chippewa National Forest, Blackduck State Forest are just three state owned land that offers a tremendous abundance of whitetail deer.  Minnesota deer hunting is easily accessible from our location at Pike Point Resort.   Minnesota deer hunting groups staying with us have enjoyed the thrill of the hunt with the prize of filled tags.  Whitetail Archery season begins in mid-September and firearms season begins in early November for your Minnesota deer hunting experience.

One of our favorite sports is Minnesota Ruffed Grouse hunting. Ruffed Grouse are plentiful and exciting to hunt in the local State and National Forests. The season for grouse and partridge begins in mid-September, and there is nothing like walking thru the forest on a beautiful fall day and hearing the drumming of grouse echo through the trees in the Northwoods Country.

Gull Lake offers Minnesota Duck Hunters and Minnesota Goose Hunters ample waterfowl resting and feeding areas. Prime waterfowl hunting waters are located here on Gull Lake as they make a perfect stopping point for the many migratory birds that come through each year.

For the "big game" hunter, Minnesota bear hunts offers a thrill like no other. Minnesota Bear hunting season opens at the beginning of September.  According to the Department of Natural Resources, the Minnesota bear population is about 30,000 and has been estimated to be increasing at a rate of 6 to 7 percent each year. All bear hunters are responsible for their own baiting and hunting grounds.

Northern Minnesota, Itasca County and the Beltrami and Chippewa National Forests offer a tremendous supply of wildlife for sportsmen of all ages.
